I was dreaming of
What’s your dream job?
A society without jobs as we know them (Salary , obligatory labor) is theoretically possible, especially with advanced automation handling necessities, it implies massive societal restructuring, potentially through systems like Universal Basic Income (UBI), and raises questions about purpose, motivation, and resource distribution, leading to potential utopias or dystopias. I retired recently. I think pragmatically there are no dream jobs. But then again, I believe myself could be wrong. I think with any job I have, I still would prefer to be home and do my own thing before going to a job and working for somebody else.
A little self reflection

I think almost everything we do is measured by our capitalistic society, even when doing nothing. Because what is really ever doing nothing. We push ourselves to write the next story, run an extra mile, do the next painting or walk around mindlessly with a leaf blower getting that one leaf that’s at the end of the driveway and annoying every neighbor within earshot.
I can’t even say retirement is a dream “not job.” nothing lasts forever and nothing is perfect.
Human Nature
We’ve all had this conversation. You see an old friend who just started a new job and you ask them how is the new job?
The answer is a predictable. It’s great. I love it.
But nothing will last forever.
I’ve talked about this before as I wish I would’ve had some guidance when seeking a career or profession. I have always chosen with the balance of financial reward and something I don’t despise myself for doing. When I was working in accounting, I wanted to work in finance. When I was working in finance, I wanted to work in analysis when I was working in analysis I wanted to be a computer programmer.
They said you would love or hate it
I did neither they they were OK, it was always nice to be like Fred Flintstone take the sliding board down the dinosaur‘s tail home.
I wouldn’t mind being a tenured professor at a cool university, with a smart staff. It would be nicer within Germany or even the heart of Mexico. As a perk, I would get a blank notebook and a number seven Pentel pencil.
