Yes it is quite annoying getting that phone call that you no longer have an extended car warranty. It is so nice of the gentleman on the other end of the line serving that gentle reminder that you have no extended car warranty.
They probably still do exist, people who go door to door selling bathroom brushes or Encyclopedias. I don’t have any real means to compare what is more disliked a call about your car warranty or a door to door salesman. My bet is the extended car warranty is more annoying as it is the here and now. People may even view door-to-door salesman‘s with a bit of nostalgia.
There is a human being on the end of the line when you were being called about your extended car warranty. They filled out an application, read the job description, interviewed in a new suit and excepted the job offer from Extended Car Warranty Inc. ECWI
And now they have the job, and they drive to work every single day through the back streets of a remote town in Indiana or India in a car with no extended car warranty. Why would you buy that on that limited income. It just doesn’t make financial sense. But it does make financial sense to make that phone call So that one in 100 people fall for the bait. It is known as the law of large numbers.
And a word to the wise, when you win that trip from Marriott, Because your name was chosen from the friends and family program you have now won an all expense paid trip and now you need a ride to the airport.
I hope you have an extended warranty for your car so you can get to the airport.
I have no words of wisdom or deep philosophical thoughts other than it is amazing some of the industries that exist and there are people who are willing to work within these industries. And the problem does not live with those who work in the industry, rather those who design business such as to prey on people and their insecurities.
