Memorial day is that day after a long dry period where we actually have a three day weekend. I have never been a candidate for the military as I can’t fathom holding a gun, shooting a gun or even being aggressive towards another person. Fighting a war is not for me. I’m not sure given the choice what I would have done but that choice was made for me.
I am not the most patriotic nor the most religious person in the world. That takes too much blind faith and the unknown and a country that is so flawed and not interested in correcting its ways. It’s all about capitalism. But still I am in awe of people who go to war or join the military.
I am the same for religious people. But then again I don’t see what they see. But who am I to judge as we all seek our own truth. I just happen to be more concrete in nature. But by all means honor to those who have served and as well to those who serve in the future.
And keep that respect for those who have served while going out enjoying the first days of summer. Tip your cap To those who have served. Also tip your mask, to those who have served on the front lines during this pandemic. There’s no blind faith there, just science tears blood and compassion. Have a great day.
