What constitutes a memory?

1–2 minutes

What constitutes a memory. There are these events that pop into your mind on a consistent basis with little rhyme and a lot less reason. What constitutes a memory can never really be predetermined.

I went on a simple bike ride this morning and I rode around with memories of autumnal early morning runs from many years ago. What put them in my mind I have no idea other than the faint papermill scent that hung in the early morning air.

I would like to introduce BF Skinner. He waxed poetically about stimulus and response. The small bike ride was a small step in my recovery back to running.

Very much like those autumn mornings when I first started getting into running and the first step towards an active healthy lifestyle. This morning, did not feel all that much different.

Have a great day. Who knows, today’s bike ride may show up in memories years from now. Who knows?
