A New Blazer

San Antonio Spurs assistant Becky Hammon is a finalist for the Portland Trail Blazers‘ vacant head coaching position, The Athletic’s Shams Charania and Sam Amick report.

I rarely if ever comment on sports as I don’t live in a sports world and I don’t find it all that important. That being said I do find it rather interesting and a bit of a reflection on life.

So apparently Becky Hammons is a finalist for the Trail Blazers head-coaching job. I honestly have no idea how good of a coach she may be. All I have to say if she is the best coach available hire her in a minute. And I hate to admit, I will become an even bigger fan of the Portland trailblazers.

A good friend of mine, that I went to high school with, was the first female referee in the NBA. And all that is fine and dandy, she was a downright able referee and that is all that matters. As an aside, she did once Kick my butt at one on one basketball.

It’s all sports, and mostly fun and games. I believe there should be a big shout out to Gregg Popovich who gave her the chance, who took the chance and put her in the spot to succeed. Something tells me she will make Damian Lillard even better.
