So You Want To Move To The States

I realize there are other factors. Those who are fleeing lacking basic necessities have a different equation-a different plight. Those fleeing for their safety or for basic needs such as food or shelter – moving to the States is a viable option. I get it.

Fleeing crop failure, land and job shortages, rising taxes, and famine, many came to the U. S. because it was perceived as the land of economic opportunity.

But other than that why would anybody decide to move here?

A quick google search and people move here for these reasons

1.education system (expensive)

2. Economy (yes it is big and favors the already wealthy)

3. Career opportunities- Somewhat true in an unbalanced labor market favoring those in power

4. Culinary Culture – many countries have big cities with varied culture

5. Health Care system – I might die laughing at this one.

We do have guns, solar power, racism, religious zealots, pollution and apathy

We also have lots of open spaces, jazz, great Mexican food and college football.

We have the freedom to use a leaf blower on a Saturday morning, and the freedom to get pissed off about it

And the one thing we do have are great therapists.
