Grammy Schofer’s Bacon Dressing (Vegan)

1.5 cups coconut flakes
2 ½ Tbsp tamari
2 tsp maple syrup
¼ tsp liquid smoke (we used Stubbs Liquid Smoke – Hickory)
¼ tsp salt
Good crack of black pepper

I accidentally created this from another recipe . Our Grandmother used to make a bacon dressing and I didn’t necessarily like or dislike.

I threw this together and it brought back memories of her dressing.

It is rather quite easy, stirfry the coconut chips with the rest of the ingredients for five minutes and pour over the intended salad. 

It has a look and feel of bacon, without harming an animal.
