What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever found (and kept)?
A Wednesday night many years ago, my son Max and I went for a run while my daughter played volleyball. About a mile into the run a beagle ran up to me and started playing. It was the cutest dog ever. The man who owned the dog let me play with her for awhile and soon went on his way.
The next week, Max and I went on the same run and I seriously went looking for that beagle. Max doesn’t even like to run . And there was that beagle in the park and she ran up to us the same way as it did the previous week. Max and I played some more and agreed it was an extraordinarily pleasant dog. there was a connection there.
I love beagles. Soon the beagle started to take over my thinking. It was no different than being in love . It was uncanny how she ran up to me in the park two weeks in a row.
On the third week, we went on the very same run with my son and there was the Beagle once again. We played together energetically in the park. The owner of the dog, his name, was Sam. walked over and said to me it’s uncanny how this dog really likes you.
He told me the story how he was watching the dog for his mother. She was ill in the hospital and could not care for Lucy.
Sam simply asked me if I would like the dog.
Lucy, Ghosty Pig, was one of the best dogs I’ve ever had.
