Memories of PI

I was more of a savory than a sweet as a kid. I rarely make PIE as an Adult.

Here are some Pies I detested as a kid.

1. Meat Pi -Pennsylvania Dutch monstrosity
2. Corn PI – was not edible.
3. Shepherds Pi – I now like the vegan version
4. Pot Pi – I wish my parents splurged for the $.39 Swanson
5. Tasty cake Pi’s –  the blueberry was OK

Here are some I liked,

1. Boston Crème Pi – it’s a tangent of a Pi.
2. Lemon Sponge – gooey weirdness
3. Pizza Pi -from Wangers Backerei in Reading
4. Blueberry Pie – the best of Pi
5. Shoe Fly Pi – it is made of old shoes and flies that die on a light bulb. Molasses goodness.

Shoo Fly pie is a classic Pennsylvania Dutch dessert. The pie has a cakey top and gooey bottom and is a rich and decadent pie…so be sure to bring your sweet tooth.
