If you had to give up one word that you use regularly, what would it be?
There isn’t one single “longest” word, as German’s ability to form compound words means new, long words can always be created, but Kraftfahrzeug-Haftpflichtversicherung(motor vehicle liability insurance) is a long and relatively common example found in official contexts like dictionaries.
I think I will drop this from my vocabulary as I never drive when I’m in Germany I take the bus or the train.
Zug is a nice word.
