What makes a good neighbor?

There is no set recipe for a good neighbor. I’ve had all different types of neighbors in my lifetime and they come in all shapes and sizes.

My Part

Besides the normal day to day, being respectful and tidy is the bare minimum for a good neighbor.

I really believe you have to give your neighbor space. After that, you can be there when they need you. But certainly it’s great to go the extra mile and have conversations and even meals together.

It’s not going to happen in every case. Everybody is different and you have to respect that.

Communication

Communication among neighbors is critical. We’re all different and going through different experiences so when an issue comes up, It’s great to discuss it amongst neighbors.

The CrowLady

In the last 20 years everywhere, I lived there has been a crow lady. Is that person on the block who feeds the crows. At first, I found it odd. But that is where our differences coming to play. I may find it odd that they feed the crows and they may find it odd that I go running every day.

Added Bonus

A great neighbor loves Halloween I’m not begging into Halloween so they can buy all the candy and entertain all the kids.

A great neighbor grows tomato plants better than I can. And she lets me pick him whenever I want.

Another great neighbor doesn’t care we have a fire in the yard, or our Book Club gets out of control.

And they can do the same.
