How have your political views changed over time?

I always believed every person has an inherent self worth but that notion has been challenged recently.

Nuance

I know I stayed up way too late last night, but I woke up in a time vortex. I do not know exactly what happened, but I feel like I am in the wild wild West. I was sitting in the bar last night and minding my own business. I was making small talk with the server I used to know. I’m a bit paranoid, but I thought she was with the Russians too. In other words, I did not trust her.

I spent last night at the bar, and it was dark, musty, and perfect. I thought the atmosphere was just as I liked it. I had a few glasses of beer. I stole a cigarette and smoked it out on the back balcony. It tasted too good to be a cigarette. There on the back balcony, the frost of the evening settled down for the night. It started getting cold and everyone headed to the dark confine of the bar once again.

I was ready to go home for the night, put the drama unfolded before me made me stay. And through the front door, walked in a man of immense stature. He was a large man, and the shadow filled the room. The room went quiet and I heard a quarter drop to the floor. The man removed the cowboy hat, search the room and put his hat back on again. He did this slowly and seemingly with intention.

The bartender whose name I remember was Angie walked across the bar amongst the silence. She put two large beers on the table of a couple who were staring into each other ‘s eyes. She then walked over to the tall man and said to him. There will be no fighting tonight.

And you could just shut up and get me a beer.

“I said there will be no fighting tonight.”

My friend Cabot sat at the bar minding his own business. He preferred being alone tonight. He was not melancholy. He was not sad. He just wanted to exist beside himself and take in the evening. There are nights like that. He and his boyfriend split up less than amicably recently. Yes, he was human and had to use the bathroom.
