Many years ago, I loved Groundhog Day. In Pennsylvania, the winters were colder and more severe . That I do kind of miss, but that’s the story for another day. For a minute in time I would hope the groundhog would do his job and wipe winter away but now I’ve come to detest the holiday . I do love this time of year.

I don’t like the idea we use an animal for this purpose. I also don’t like the idea that many people in the United States trust the groundhog more than they do science..
