Describe a phase in life that was difficult to say goodbye to.
In retrospect there have always been periods to say good by to. Generally these transitions happen with little pomp and circumstance.
We live our lives preparing for the upcoming phases in our lives. We are saying good by all the time. Until we are not.
For example, my constant companion Cooper passed away suddenly a few months back. I mentally prepared for the possibility at a later time, but this happened so suddenly. The transition to life without Cooper is difficult yet many great memories remain.

Our Jack Russel still looks for him briefly when we head out for a walk. I wonder often how the transition was for Cooper.
