I have A first name and it’s spelled

Because I’m in a lazy mood, I’m not going to look up the etymology of that commercial. I believe it was for Oscar Meyer wieners. Me not being a consumer of hot dogs I will set that aside as a cute little advertising thing from the 60s.

My First Name is Kenneth

And I don’t use it often. In the writing world and academia I am K Mark Schofer and for most other things in life I’m simply Mark. I dropped the first name Kenneth at the end of my undergrad at Penn State University. Because I did emerge a new person dropping bad habits and picking up a lot of good ones.

There are a lot of places where I’m Kenneth. Government agencies, my birth certificate and all my criminal records have the name Kenneth. Well, I don’t have a criminal record but still there are spots of bother to act with. I think they make it through an airport security seamlessly. Once in a while, it confuses them. That works well if I want to sneak something into a weird country.. It’s a nice distraction.

It is my cat’s first name. We call him Bobo. The people at the vet just can’t pronounce it. Somehow, all the records indicate my first name is Bobo. I’ve tried to correct it many times and they never get it right. Apparently, we have the same Social Security number.
