Maslow’s Hierarchy on his Knees

1–2 minutes

What are three objects you couldn’t live without?

H2O

The natural instinct here is first to find what it means to live.

But I think that distinction is important. For example towns such as Thunder Bay in northern Canada and Flint Michigan, residents must be creative to secure drinking water.

Food Deserts

For example, Suburban – Atlanta, GA:Many low-income neighborhoods south of downtown Atlanta are classified as food deserts, with high numbers of residents living over a mile from a supermarket without personal vehicles.

I grabbed this example out of the air that there are many others. Supermarkets don’t want to develop here because of low income and it becomes a vicious circle.

The concept of food deserts is an area I have studied. Two cities that I looked at closely, were Detroit, Michigan and Rochester, New York.

Shelter

We do so much in this country to placate the Rich. we need an affordable minimum wage that people can live and secure shelter.

Religion

I have no idea whether the concept of heaven and hell is real. I have my doubts. In a conversation with a good friend, who is the minister he told me his belief. He found the concept of heaven as a just reward on somebody else’s ledger.

For many people air, water, food and shelter are a struggle. In a country as wealthy as ours it is embarrassing that we have people living in these conditions. We can do better.
