I have a few of these, and I try not to dwell on them as some decisions lead to future decisions which lead us to toward another place to make bad decisions. Sometimes bad decision. are good decision decisions.

Discussions With My Mother

I remember after I believe our first daughter was born, my mother said to me. “ Mark, you should have kids at a younger age.”

Mom, I’m in no position to change that right now.

Baseball

When I was in high school somehow I got a scholarship to play baseball at a school on the East Coast. I decided not to take that scholarship and concentrate on academics. I reconstruct that story to my own liking as there may have been other reasons, but I turned down that scholarship.

Then I decided to go to a big state school.

It all worked out in the end, but I don’t recommend a big school for anybody. I learned better at a small school. I’m not just a number.

I have so many of these stories to tell.

Buying A House

Right now we’re in the middle of buying a house. We looked at many different houses and decided on one recently. When we make decisions, some happen on gut feel someone analytics and someone experience and so them don’t make sense.

Type 2 Errors

When you make a decision Who knows what would’ve happened if you made the other choice.

I left a large database Company many years ago, and if I would’ve stayed, who knows I would probably be rather wealthy. But if I didn’t leave that database company, I would not have gone down the path that I have..
