How do you balance work and home life?
Work to live and not live to work.
I recently retired, so this equation doesn’t exactly fit. During my career, this Credo always was my guiding light. It probably was the reason. I usually got reviews of meet expectations instead of exceeds expectations. Despite this, I still wish I spent more time at home. We do set time for our spouses and our children. The thing is the time should be intentional and focused. And that’s not always the easiest in the rush, rush life in the United States.
I try not to be defined by my profession. I have a hard time at social events, when the leading question is what do you do for a living?
The question should be how do you live? I don’t care if you’re a bus driver or a CEO. How do you live your life is what matters.
