If you could erase one event from history, what would it be?

Ongoing, there are many attempts by right in the United States to reshape our history.

Curriculum Restrictions: Passing state laws and executive actions to limit or ban the teaching of critical race theory and specific systemic equity concepts in K–12 schools. This is ridiculous, it’s a thinly veiled attempt to keep the white male in power.

Federal Directives: Utilizing executive orders—such as the action targeting the Smithsonian Institution and national parks—to contest exhibits highlighting slavery or indigenous struggles, favoring narratives centered on national unity and achievement. History is real and it offers lessens for enlightenment.

Monuments and Public Memory: Reinstating plans for commemorative spaces like the National Garden of American Heroes and reviewing changes to public landmarks to align with traditional national narratives. One person’s traditional is simply racism and limiting the rights of others.

I’m not in favor of altering the way our history has unfolded.
