Rudderless but in the Right Direction

Do you set personal goals for yourself?

We all are kind of familiar with the fine art of goal setting.

Goals should be moderately difficult.

Goal should be concrete and measurable.

The real challenge is not determining if you want the result, but if you are willing to accept the sacrifices required to achieve your goal. Do you want the lifestyle that comes with your quest? Do you want the boring and ugly process that comes before the exciting and glamorous outcome?

Certainly I do goals but they are more in the general direction of which way I want to go as opposed to I want to run a three hour marathon by the time I’m 32 years ago.

I bring that one out because that was one of my goals that I said for myself, and it didn’t matter whether I reached it or not. I believe I did that in Boston. But achieving that goal wasn’t that important as I’ve developed a lifestyle that helped making that goal possible. Goes from eating habits, steady workouts, and a little bit of good luck.

Writiting

I set a goal of having 15 short stories published so I could put them together in a compilation in a form of a book. I don’t want to worry just to get to that goal. I am currently at 12 stories published, but I want the last three stories to be not just to get published but to be a reflection of myself.

I’m really not much of a goal setter.
