What’s a lesson you’ve learned recently that shifted your perspective?
Spending time with children will reset one’s perspective in a transformative way. Certainly, not for everybody. But for me it works.
I spent yesterday afternoon with the kids at a playground new to me, I watched our youngest climb high ladders to reach unscalable sliding boards. I watched kids of all races play carefree with not a hint of malice.
And there are some battles not worth fighting. Kids pretty much self regulate what they eat. As kids we sat at the table for hours not touching what our parents served. If a kids wants to only eat half a banana they will eat a half of a banana. You move on to the next battle.
And read them a book.
