What’s a book you never finished but still think about?
That’s where I usually sat in church. When I got bored I started reading from the Bible. I know I never finished the book, but I generally would pop from greatest hits to greatest hits. I know I read all of Genesis and Revelation.
I didn’t particularly enjoy it, but it’s still a worthwhile experience as I observed recurring themes in the Bible such as.
Radical Generosity: Passages like Matthew 19:21 urge selling possessions to give to the poor, yet materialistic comfort often supersedes total self-sacrifice.Avoiding Judgment: Matthew 7:1-5 warns against judging others and focusing on the speck in another’s eye while ignoring the log in one’s own, a hypocrisy Jesus strongly condemned.
It’s a trigger for me. That is people using the Bible and their holiness to justify taking rights away from other people.
That’s just pure hatred. I didn’t read about that anywhere in the Bible.
