• It’s the F+c”ing Guns

Ciudad Juárez had a higher murder rate than Baghdad. El Paso, right across the border was ranked the second safest city in the United States. But, where did the Juarez’s drug gangs purchase their guns¿ of course in El Paso in the United States. And where did the drugs that moved through the cartels get consumed. If you guessed El Paso, you would be correct.

  • Sixteen Vestal Virgins

    We skipped the light fandango
    Turned cartwheels ‘cross the floor
    I was feeling kinda seasick
The crowd called out for more
    The room was humming harder
    As the ceiling flew away
When we called out for another drink
    The waiter brought a tray

Whiter Shade of Pale -I don’t listen to old music all that often, however this song is brilliant and nobody knows the meaning. Babbling nonsense, like boing in love. The order of the words sometimes matter little.
  • Bill Fold Found

Many years ago when i lost my wallet on the way home from a running race in York, Pa. Actually I never realized it was lost until I received a phone call later that day. A gentleman found my wallet, I believe he was fishing, on the banks of the Susquehanna River. I know reading this, the timing may seem suspect but unfortunately it is not. It took us awhile to how this could have happened. One of my two little sisters, sitting in their car seats, had thrown the wallet out the window of the car and for the life of of me I have no idea how the wallet made it

    • – 1) Out The Window
    • 2) Over the Roadside barrier
    • 3) To the bank of the river
    • 4.) Picked Up by the fisherman
    • 5) And then again how the man on the riverbank fishing found me in Pennsylvania. I had a Virginia drivers license.
    • 6) I don’t remember exactly how it worked as there was no Google or Smart Phones.
    • Lesson learned – NONE.

My little sisters are now have children the same age as they were when they toss the billfold out the window. Last might we were walking to a restaurant before a soccer game and we had a certain urgency.

There in the middle of the road sat a wallet. Upon inspection of the wallet, We found where the person lived. Already running late we ventured there anyways. The owner of the wallet was not at home and we were not 100 percent sure he still lived there. We decided to take the wallet with us.

We did eventually find the owner of the wallet. There was a tracking device on the wallet and we tangentially came close to running into each other at the The Portland Timbers soccer match . It was a perfect metaphor to how close the home team came to scoring the game winning goal. Oh so close, but we never connected until the following day.

Lesson Learned – Do the right thing. What goes around comes around.

  • I walked out in the yard the other day. The temperature was pushing triple digits. Warm days such as this used to be a rarity. Now they linger for a week and sometimes longer.

The birds were large as a group. The flock, loud and talkative, seemed to be saying something. The pattern was consistent and almost understandable.

For today they skipped the man made bird baths and feeders. All they could talk about was how humans have virtually destroyed their environments.

The bulldozers were bad enough, the fireworks another but what bothered them most was the warming of the planet. They abhorred the fact humans did nothing about this crisis.

And there they sat and bitched in a tree.
