What would you do if you lost all your possessions?

    Life goes on

    as I walk around naked

  • Luna Turned 8 Yesterday

I wonder if Jack Russell terriers ever grow up. Luna still is as crazy as she was at six months. I told my wife I don’t want a jack Russell Terrier, but she’s a pretty cool dog..

To her credit she has made it to eight. She will fight with anyone and anybody and snuggle with most. It sounds like a formula for a long and happy life, happy birthday Luna.

  • November 3, 1983

Tell us about a time when you felt out of place.

I stood on the starting line, in Washington DC for the Marine Corps marathon. It was my first marathon, and I had only been running for five or six months.

I called the race Director and he gave me a last minute exemption to get in the race and there I was feeling out of place.

Everyone was so fit, and they looked so darn fast. I guess they called it the imposter syndrome.

I passed through the 1st mile in seven minutes and 11 seconds. I was suddenly one of them.

I held my own and finished a little over three hours later.

  • Of Course Cancer Sucks

My Mom died of cancer and a dear friend just passed from Ovarian Cancer . There is no fairness in Cancer and in death. It goes after good people and villains at the same seminary capricious rate.

One must ask is there a god with so much randomness and lack of fairness of whom it chooses.

Now that we live longer, did Cancer actually exist 200 years ago?

Yes, cancer has been known for centuries, and historical records indicate that it existed long before 200 years ago. Ancient Egyptians documented cases of tumors, and the term “cancer” itself comes from the Greek physician Hippocrates, who used the word “karkinos” (meaning crab) to describe tumors. While the understanding of cancer and its causes has evolved significantly over the years, the disease itself has been part of human history for a long time.
