• Learning New Languages

la computadora no es tan inteligente

Being a life long learner you can be a pleasant pain in the ass. The new adventure is to learn Spanish and that is going a lot better then learning German. For some reason it sticks to the brain a lot easier. And there in lies the problem, which is a good problem to have. That is the Translation that is going on in your brain. Where are you must translate from English to Spanish. When we eliminate that step it all becomes that much easier. The number of people like myself who have another translator in their CPU. There are many words and sentences or structure known in German and the brain takes a detour once in a while and transitions from English to German to Spanish to the spoken word. Which can be counterproductive.

Then we go to learning another new language. That new language being Python. In this case knowing other languages does help a lot. Computer languages have a lot of underlying similarities from one language to another so in most cases it makes the transition that much easier and in someways a lot less interesting. For many of us to joy is in learning a new language but, then again we introduce this little thing known as capitalism. Produce produce produce and get that language learned as quickly as possible. There is plenty of merit in that as in the long run we don’t want to learn a new language we just want code that does what we want it to do. But we all know there’s a lot of fun in mastering a new computer language. Despite, looming status reports and societies ever present pressure To produce. Somewhere under all of this there is pressure, or lack of pressure, To simply have fun while learning. And there’s a lot of privilege in that

Hopefully you have fun along the way

  • Good morning people, this is Bobo the weather cat reporting from high atop my perch overlooking the cul-de-sac. I have inherited the job of keeping bad weather from the cul-de-sac. Last year I failed miserably when A snowstorm over took the cul-de-sac I oversee. But I’m getting better. As for today:

From the photo above I hope it is apparent that today is going to be a rainy day. Take heed, and enjoy this little respite and appreciate the raindrops watering the earth. As for tomorrow, there shall be big fat robins looking for big fat worms just outside my window.

Thank you for listening to my podcast from high atop the cul-de-sac. The sun shall return one day.

  • Hi there, my name is Derek and I’m sitting in my jail cell. I just got convicted of a crime that I thought there was no way I would get convicted. There have been millions to have come before me and they got no punishment or prosecution.

I am the arrogant racist dumbass and I got caught. And it’s not fair, because I am white because I am a policeman because I am an arrogant dumb ass. They just brought me my food and I got rice and beans. What the fuck is that – that’s immigrant food. Next thing they’ll bring me black eyed pea’s. Fuck the system. I think I’ll take the pan and rattle it on the bars of my cell.

Life is not fair. Bang clang bang clang rattle

If I had to do it over again, the arrogant bastard but within me, would do it again. I just would not get fucking caught

  • Good morning on this fine day that is known as Friday. It looks like rain will be settling with us for the weekend, and that’s a real good thing.

In 1968, a series of protests at Columbia University in New York City were one among the various student demonstrations that occurred around the country and that year the Columbia protest erupted over the spring of that year after students discovered links between the University and the institutional apparatus support in the United States involved in the War as well as their concern over an allegedly segregated gymnasium to be constructed in the nearby Morningside Park . The protest resulted in the student occupation of many university buildings in the eventual Violent removal of protesters by the New York City Police Department

So protests are not a new thing and protest do actually work. It is also worth stating that the police have been jack asses as we go through our short history. Hell the police were formed as a gesture of discrimination and a stab at white superiority. So things haven’t changed in a real long time. We have less wars and I can only infer the reason for that however we have way more out right racism right out in the open. These are different times but they’re pretty much the same.
