    How do you manage stress?

Who knows how I manage stress. I’m very fortunate because I’m at a point in my life where the day-to-day is not so uncertain.

But holy shit the state of the world, brings me back to my original statement of I have no idea how I manage stress. I’ve never been good at compartmentalizing injustice in the world.

Let’s take a very small part of this world. I’ve always been a big sports fan for many years, the success of the team I’m pulling for was tied to a certain happiness in my world.

Somewhere along the line I decided I can’t become emotionally invested in how well as certain sports team does. I simply don’t pay attention that much, and I certainly will not sit down and watch an entire sporting event.

I seem to have taken the same approach to the affairs of our country and the world. It’s not that I don’t care. I only have so much control and so much emotional bandwidth.

And it doesn’t hurt to have a dog.

What’s something you’ve done that your past self would be proud of?

To phrase this properly, what have you done that you are proud. Every single thing that comes before is your past self. And Yes I am happy where I am at, proud as well as happy to be retired

What’s the best online course you’ve ever taken?

A few years back, we had mandatory classes we had to take as computer programmers. One was an Ethics exam.

My boss tried to convince me to look up the answers in advance. Not that those online tests are great, but having a boss wanting me to cheat on an ethics exam was a signal. It was not going to be a good experience with this boss.

    It wasn’t.

Which celebrity would you love to meet, and what would you talk about?

By happenstance, I’ve met plenty of celebrities in my life, including Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton. When meeting a celebrity they’re just normal people like you and myself.

I stand corrected as I’m not normal and I don’t really want to be.

As I write this I am drawing a complete blank as I don’t have any yearning to meet any celebrities

I would really like to sit and talk to George Saunders. His writing style is so different. I read his book A Swim In The Pond in The Rain on three different occasions. This book had a tremendous influence on my writing and what I read.

I’ve also listened to his book on audio, and his speaking voice is tremendous.
