We are thinking about a move to Seattle. Logically when making a move such as this it gives us the opportunities to get rid of things we can eliminate.
That Chair
Our cats have destroyed our furniture so there is an opportunity to get rid of that ‚ favorite chair.
Books
We just packed up about 500 books. I love the look and feel of shelves lined of books. I am happy to have others read these books.
I went to an Asian grocery store today. It is a small store tucked in with other international markets. I do go there often. I bought tofu, vegetables, spices jackfruit and couldn’t find the bread I was looking for.
The great thing about it was that I am the minority. I don’t know the customs of the store. I don’t speak the language. That’s OK as it is a good place to be once in a while.
I’d rather enjoy the feeling of not knowing what I’m doing. It’s good to be humbled once in a while.
I’m not one for exact recipes because generally you’re smart enough to figure it out. Marinate your tofu. I started slicing it real thin and will do that tonight. Top with pickled vegetables and slather on vegan. Put all of that in between a toasted bun and enjoy.
Magic
Then one of my axiom’s in life is travel outside of your comfort zone. It’s a nice place to be.
I texted my brother the other day and I asked him what his favorite song by The Cure was. Picking a favorite. It’s somewhat impossible. mine happens to be
My Pictures of You
If you ask to meet me tomorrow would be different. I have no favored animals. I live a life where I choose not to kill any animals. I don’t brag about it and it’s not badge of honor. It’s just the right thing to do. I do have some favorite animal stories.
How we treat animals are pure reflections on ourself. They’re not refractions, but a stark glimpse in the mirror.
The famous line from George Orwell’s Animal Farm pretty much sums it up, “ All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.”
I love my dogs and cats, but all animals even though they are not as furry and snuggly and cute, they still deserve a long dignified life.We all only have one life to live
As tempting as it is to engage on Social Media on public political posts, it’s a bad idea unless you know the person you’re engaging with. Meta reports that ~4% of active users are fake. They took down 1.1 to 1.4 Billion fake accounts per quarter in 2024-2025. Fake accounts engage in Coordinated Inauthentic Behavior (CIB): swarming controversial topics and making inflammatory statements, driving up engagement. I had suspected this for a while and found the data to back it up directly from Meta’s transparency site:
I am careful
I have to be careful. My wife is a school teacher and men of her parents and some students see what I talk about. So I tread in with care.
This has become my social media.
It is not that I feel protected here and I have a lot to say. I’m really pissed at The current regime in the state of the United States. I’m embarrassed to live here.
That being said
I try to offer little quirky slices of life, and hopefully a glimmer of hope for some people and hopefully just enough information so people know how I feel.
