    It was nice to have our first visitor to our new home in Everett Washington. My good friend Jeff stopped by as the movers were here. It is worth noting Jeff was the first person I met when we moved to Oregon twenty eight years ago.

    I also need to speak some German. My skill level is increasing but I need to have some real conversations in German.

    Es war schön, unseren ersten Besucher in unserem neuen Zuhause in Everett, Washington, zu begrüßen. Mein guter Freund Jeff kam vorbei, gerade als die Umzugshelfer da waren. Erwähnenswert ist, dass Jeff der erste Mensch war, den ich kennengelernt habe, als wir vor achtundzwanzig Jahren nach Oregon gezogen sind.

    Ich muss auch etwas Deutsch sprechen. Meine Sprachkenntnisse verbessern sich zwar, aber ich muss echte Gespräche auf Deutsch führen.

    Having moved everything I owned across Washington state I can’t say I have personal possessions that come to mind.

    Do you have any collections?

    I must admit I love collecting music on vinyl. I know we can get what ever we want on music services.

    Vinyl has a certain Je ne sais quoi.

    We are in the middle of moving and I took special care the records were in a cool storage place out of the sun.

    I had a huge vinyl collection up until grad school. Somebody broke into my place and stole most of them.

    But I am there again collecting vinyl and enjoying it.
