• I’ve Done the Research for you

If you could have something named after you, what would it be?

Naming something after yourself is a sign of somebody who wants to control and has a large ego.

Could you imagine if somebody wanted to put their name on the dollar bill?

World, you know what to do?

And I’ve done the research for you.

It is generally not illegal to write or draw on U.S. paper currency, provided it is not done with fraudulent intent or to make the bill “unfit for reissue”. Under 18 U.S.C. § 333, it is only illegal to deface currency if the intent is to render it unusable, such as destroying it or masking essential details like serial numbers.

This is going to be an exercise in creative graffiti or the proper use of a credit card.

I will write the word IMPEACH before his name as I buy 1/10 of a tank of gas.

  • Corvair Love

    Corvair Love

    What makes you laugh?

    Another Love Story

Being a little kid in retrospect is humorous and confusing. My grandmother whom we all adored suddenly one day had a boyfriend. Who knows what he really was. We never knew our grandfather as he passed away when we were too young to have memories that transended into the future. A male in our grandmother’s house was something we noticed quickly. Even as kids we were not the gossipy type.

This is interesting how we piece together our memories and what happens, especially when transferred from a less than developed brain to hopefully a fully developed brain. I remember this new man looking remarkably similar to Mel Blanc. It is interesting to know that I had no idea who Mel Blanc was when this man entered our life. All I knew at that time was Bugs Bunny.

And he drove a Corvair. I am not a car person, and I never have been a car person. I have no idea why I knew that he drove a Corvair. The chief suspect is my dad. As kids we were told not to ask questions. Somewhere along the line, I asked my dad about this guy who appeared at our grandmother ‘s home. My dad was a car salesman and talked about his mother ‘s boyfriend ‘s car in his usual hyperbolic way. My dad distorted the truth and, in my youth, I listened to it as the gospel according to Dad until it no longer made sense

But there was no debating that my grandmother dated a guy named Doc who drove up to her house in a little white Corvair. These are memories of our grandmother when we thought of her as old. It is an age-old belief about grandparents.

And today while out running I passed a Corvair parked on the street. I had to laugh.

  • Odd Correlation

    Odd Correlation

When you were five, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Who would think there would be a correlation between our first names and the professions we choose. Under the covers, most people like themselves and somehow navigate to work proffssions similar to what their first name is.

Research suggests a subtle correlation between first names and career choices, often termed nominative determinism, where people may gravitate toward professions matching their name. Examples include dentists named Dennis or Denise, or lawyers named Lawrence, driven by implicit egotism—an unconscious preference for things associating with oneself.

I understand that for last names. We have last names such as Miller and Barber and in German Mueller and Sitzpinkler.

So as a five-year-old everyone called me, Mark. so I guess that was destined to get lost in the supermarket.

Or mark the paper which would make me a teacher

Or Mark a paper which would make me an artist

Or maybe I’m off the Mark as my real first name is Kenneth.

  • Most Five Year Olds Want To Be Six

When you were five, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I don’t know the answer but given who I was I imagine I wanted to get on the road and go somewhere.

I would listen to to the nearby highway and wonder where they were headed. I wanted to go there as well.

I don’t think I thought much about working. I did enjoy the idea of playing baseball as kids we played baseball all the time. While falling asleep at night I had pretend baseball games rolling around in my head. For some reason, I always included the Star-Spangled Banner. I loved that song as a kid. I think the reason I liked it was a baseball game came next.
